Campaign for Real Ale

Red Cow

59 Sheen Road, Richmond TW9 1YJ

On the 33 bus route to Richmond Station, the cosy, popular Red Cow is a restored inn offering an ever-changing menu of home-cooked food and comfortable accommodation. There is live music to midnight at weekends and all big live sporting events are shown.

The Red Cow has a history that dates back to the early 19th century. Although recently refurbished, many of the original Victorian features, including wonderful glassworks, have been retained.

There are four en-suite double/twin bedrooms and the continental-style breakfast can be changed to full English (or Irish) by arrangement. Meals are served daily at lunch and Monday to Thursday evenings until 21:00. The pub itself is open from 11:00 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, 11:00 to midnight Friday to Saturday, and 11:00 to 23:00 on Sundays. The real ales available are Young's Bitter, Young's Special and St Austell Tribute.

A quote from a review site states, "Nice big comfy room. Friendly staff. And dog friendly - makes all the difference when looking for a place to stay." Tom and Carmel Dillon are long-term tenants and have taken great care to preserve the atmosphere of one of Richmond's oldest pubs but have put their own unique stamp upon it to great effect.
